Dear Caregivers

Writing this is not to advertise for ADA ( Alzheimer Disease Association), but is to share with other caregivers like myself...taking care of my dad on my own.

I believe all of you will know that it is very stressful to take care of a demented dad and at the time have to work for a living.

It is better of us to take good care of ownself or else we will be in IMH earlier than our loved ones.

Do go for the Caregiver Support Group. I realised that a lot of people are still not aware of the resources available in Singapore or the stigma...and are not willing to attend any Support Group that is available in Singapore.

I personally have been going attending the support group for almost 6 years, whenever I attended one...I feel relieved and destressed...as though that I have been to a spa for a massage session.

Try to be friend with some of the carer especially those are positive. We carer need to be positive or else .....

Cheers.

Good things are mean to share. I am sure people who read it will be blessed. Knowing that you are not alone, many people out there are struggling to take care of their loves one who suffer from dementia.
Take care of yourself.
